Virginia Langum and Jonas Olofsson Have Been Elected New Members of the Young Academy of Sweden  

Two of the Swedish Collegium's current Pro Futura Scientia Fellows, Virginia Langum and Jonas Olofsson,
have been elected new members of the Young Academy of Sweden. Langum and Olofsson are among those
eight new members who were presented at a ceremony on 23 May 2015.

The Young Academy of Sweden is an independent, cross-disciplinary forum for the most promising young
researchers in Sweden. It is open to scholars from all disciplines.The criteria for election are scientific
excellence and a proven interest in the matters handled by the Academy. To become elected, a scholar
should be maximum ten years beyond receiving his/her PhD. The term of office is five years and new
members are being elected every year. The Academy was founded in 2011 on the initiative of the Royal
Swedish Academy of Sciences. Two former Pro Futura Scientia Fellows, Gustaf Arrhenius and Christer
Nordlund, have been members of the Young Academy since its foundation.

Virginia Langum is a Research Fellow at the Department of Language Studies at Umeå University. She
was admitted to the Pro Futura Scientia Programme in 2013.

Jonas Olofsson is Associate Professor of Psychology at Stockholm University. He was admitted to the
Pro Futura Scientia Programme in 2012.

Both Langum and Olofsson are currently in residence at SCAS.
